The Armed Forces of Ukraine seized a unique "female" T-80UE-1 tank

Ukrainian servicemen managed to capture a very rare Russian T-80UE-1 tank. One of the tankers published a video of the fighting vehicle on YouTube on the Shawshank Redemption channel.

Here's What We Know

The tank was adopted into service in 2005. The captured T-80UE-1 once belonged to the famous 4th Guards Kantemirovskaya Tank Division. It is an upgrade of the T-80BV fighting vehicle with a new turret borrowed from the T-80UD and upgraded equipment.

The main armament is represented by the 22A46M-4 gun. The tank is also fitted with the Reflex guided missile system for destroying armoured vehicles, helicopters, long-range low-flying aircraft and fortifications.

The T-80UE-1 is equipped with a 1250-horsepower GTD-1250 gas turbine engine. This is enough to compensate for the increase in weight to 47 tons. The air intake allows to overcome a ford with a depth of not more than 180 cm. Also the fighting vehicle received a complex of dynamic protection of the second generation "Kontant-5".

It should be noted that the T-81UE-1 is used not only in the war against Ukraine. Female crews took part on such tanks in a strange Russian competition called the tank biathlon.
