U.S. sends F-35 Lightning II fighters to the Netherlands for joint exercises

On October 17, American F-35 Lightning II fifth-generation fighters arrived at Leeuwarden Air Force Base.

Here's What We Know

Aircraft of the United States Air Force will be stationed at the air base in the Netherlands from October 17 to October 28, 2022. It was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the European country.

American F-35 Lightning II will take part in joint exercises of combat aviation. They will be joined by other fifth generation fighters - F-22 Raptor. Fourth-generation F-15 Eagle fighters will also take part in the exercise. All of them will also be deployed at Leeuwarden base.

American F-35 Lightning II will perform joint flights with the Dutch F-35 Lightning II. The purpose of the exercise is to practice cooperation within NATO.
