Apple introduced watchOS 9.1: improved battery life and Matter protocol support for smart devices

Following iOS 16.1 and macOS Ventura, Apple has also released a new version of the OS for the Apple Watch.

Here's What's New About It

The system came out as watchOS 9.1 and weighs about 600 MB. In the firmware, developers have optimized battery life during outdoor walks and runs by reducing heart rate measurement and GPS readings on the Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch SE (2nd generation) and Apple Watch Ultra. In theory, these versions of the smartwatch will now "live" a little longer.

Also, the new version of the system has received integration with the unified protocol Matter for smart gadgets and the ability to download music via Wi-Fi or mobile network without the need to connect the device to the charger. In addition, in watchOS 9.1 Apple has corrected bugs and worked on optimizing the system.
