ASELSAN handed over the first batch of upgraded ZMA-15 BMPs to the Turkish army

The Turkish Armed Forces received the first batch of upgraded ZMA-15 infantry fighting vehicles.

Information was shared by the publication SavunmaSanayiST. We are talking about five BMP. For the modernization of vehicles is responsible company ASELSAN. It helps another Turkish arms manufacturer - FNSS Defense.

The contract to modernize 133 ZMA-15 BMPs was signed in 2019. The cost of the modernization is estimated at 100,000,000 euros. The contract is scheduled to be implemented by 2024.

The upgraded ZMA-15 boasts a new day and night vision system, a new Nesel turret by ASELSAN with a 25mm cannon and a 7.62mm machine gun. The BMP also has a laser light warning system, navigation and modern operator panels for gunner, personnel and driver.
