Tesla cuts prices on all electric cars in the U.S. - the base Model Y dropped by $20,500

Tesla has reduced the cost of electric cars in the United States. In addition to this, government subsidies (Federal Tax Credit) began to take effect.

Here's What We Know

The cost of the Tesla Model Y has dropped by $13,000 at once. If previously the base version of the car cost $65,990, now the price is $52,990. In addition, the discount increases to $20,500 with the $7500 Federal Tax Credit.

The Federal Tax Credit is available on the purchase of a U.S.-made electric vehicle for up to $55,000. The Model Y in its base configuration now falls under the credit.

Other American company cars assembled in the United States have also fallen in price. For example, the price of the Model 3 in standard equipment has dropped from $46,990 to $43,990. The more expensive Model S and Model X cars, which don't qualify for incentives, now cost from $94,990 and $109,990, respectively. Their price has dropped by $10,000 to $11,000.
