Intel has officially denied that the cost of the next generation chips (Raptor Lake) has gone down in the US. However, it is in fact true. US retailers are offering the chips at a discount of up to $200.

Here's What We Know

The flagship Intel Core i9-13900K desktop processor is already available for $530 instead of $730. That's $70 below the official recommended price of the 24-core chip ($599). For comparison, a competitor in the form of Ryzen 9 7950X costs $587.

The Intel Core i7-13700K, which gets 8 cores less, is also cheaper. At Microcenter, its price has dropped by $190 to $330, while the manufacturer's recommended price is $419. The competitor is the Ryzen 9 7900X, which costs $417.

The 14-core Intel Core i5-13600K is already available for $250. The retailer has reduced the price by $130 and it is now $70 below MSRP. A competitor (the R7 7700X), as we wrote above, is available for $243.
