More content needed: Apple launches training programme for filmmakers to make movies and TV series for Apple TV+

While most series for the Apple TV+ service are produced by independent production companies commissioned by Apple, the company has its own teams for Apple Studios and Apple Original Films. And now Apple has decided to expand the director's team by training specialists themselves.

Here's What We Know

The company has launched a 6-month director training programme. It includes master classes, meetings with industry professionals and the opportunity to assist on set as an assistant director. Graduates of the programme who successfully complete the training will be able to direct TV series and films for Apple TV+.

"Our goal is to identify innovative and diverse visionaries and give them a front row seat to Apple Studios productions and opportunities to network. Successful participants will be positioned to direct content for Apple TV+", Apple said in a statement.

The filmmakers will study at Apple Park.

Applications will be available from February 23 until March 1.
