DeLorean will only be able to make 4,000 Alpha5 electric cars, partially replicating the legendary DMC-12 from Back to the Future

DeLoreaon last year announced plans to launch Alpha5 electric cars that will resemble the iconic DMC-12 from the Back to the Future trilogy. The cars will appear, but in smaller numbers than originally anticipated.

Here's What We Know

There were 9,351 DMC-12 cars sold in the 80s. Due to this DeLorean decided to produce the same number of electric Alpha5 cars. However, it was reported that the company had to reduce the batch size to 4,000 vehicles due to problems in the supply chain.

Series production of the Alpha5 is scheduled for 2024. The cost of the electric car is not yet specified, but in order to reserve a place in the queue, you'll have to pay $3500. And the price will go up as the number of places available decreases.
