AliExpress blocks sales of DJI and Autel drones to Russia - DJI removes app from Russian AppStore

The Chinese online marketplace AliExpress has stopped selling drones made by two companies in Russia. DJI and Autel drones were "sanctioned" by the marketplace.

Quadcopters from both companies are still for sale on AliExpress and are available in the search results. However, when clicking on the product page, a customer from Russia sees a message with the text "item not found".

The Russian publication Mash adds that the drones, which have already been ordered, will have limited functionality. What exactly is involved is not specified.

In addition DJI has removed the quadcopter control app from the AppStore in Russia. It remains on Google Play for now. Tech support for the Chinese manufacturer can not help and says that DJI does not work with customers in Russia.
