Apple invests €2bn to expand European Silicon Design Center for chip development in Germany

Apple is ready to invest €2 billion in chip development in Germany. A research centre will be built for this purpose in Munich, the Bavarian capital.

Here's What We Know

Apple has announced a €1 billion investment in 2021. The day before, the company published an official press release, which talks about an additional investment of another €1 billion.

The research centre will be built in Seidlstrasse, Munich. In addition, Apple will occupy several facilities on nearby Denisstrasse and Marsstrasse. All three locations will be near the company's research and development centre on Karlstraße. Along with the two engineering sites, they will form the European Silicon Design Center in downtown Munich.
