New core layout, UFS 4.1 memory support and Adreno 750 graphics: Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip specifications surfaced online

Qualcomm unveiled its flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor in late 2022 and is now working on its successor.

Here's What We Know

The first details about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip have surfaced on the social network Weibo. If the leak is to be believed, the new SoC will get an updated core layout: 1+5+2 instead of 1+4+3. The chip will be equipped with a new high-performance Cortex X4 core clocked at 3.2GHz. It will also get five 3.0GHz Cortex A720 cores and two 2.0GHz Cortex A520 cores.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 should support UFS 4.1 embedded memory, LPDDR5 storage, as well as Qualcomm's new X75 5G modem and Adreno 750 graphics. Like the current generation of the chip, the novelty will be built on TSMC's 4 nanometre process technology.

When We Can Expect It

Unfortunately, wait for the release of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the near future is not worth it. The chip should be announced at the end of the year.
