NVIDIA has developed the H800 GPU for China to circumvent sanctions

NVIDIA announced the H100 HVL graphics processor at GTC 2023. A special H800 chip for China was also announced.

Here's What We Know

The H100 NVL is two H100 chips on a single board that are combined via NVLink. The performance in double precision operations is 68 TFLOPS. The model has 188GB of memory. The throughput reaches 7.2 TFLOPS.

The Chinese version of the GPU is called H800. It is a delayed version of the H100 and can be exported to China. The bandwidth of the graphics chip is halved compared to the H100. No information about other limitations is available.

The H800 is the second chip created by NVIDIA under regulations imposed by the US government. The first processor that was significantly downgraded by the company was the NVIDIA A800. It is based on the A100.
