Tik-Tok prevents Norway from increasing ammunition production for Ukraine and NATO

Norwegian company Raufoss Nammo wants to expand its ammunition production, but has suddenly run into trouble from Tik-Tok.

Here's What We Know

It would seem that how can the words "ammunition", "NATO" and "Tik-Tok" meet in the same sentence. And here it is. Raufoss Nammo wants to produce more ammunition for NATO and Ukraine, but the Norwegian company will have to compete with Tik-Tok for electricity.

The local electricity provider has promised to allocate free capacity in the power grid for the new Tik-Tok data storage facility. The data centre is to appear in the Norwegian town of Hamar. The power provider has already signed an agreement with the Chinese company.

A spokesman for Raufoss Nammo said that without access to additional electricity, the manufacturer will not be able to expand capacity to increase ammunition output. What's interesting is that the company has already started investing in the expansion and fears it will become a laughing stock if its plans are thwarted by the Chinese short video service.

What's particularly ironic is that US intelligence agencies suspect Tik-Tok of spying. The situation should clear up by the end of spring.
