Poland to supply Ukrainian Armed Forces with modern Rak self-propelled mortars.

Here's What We Know

This became known during the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Poland on 5 April. Ukraine has signed a contract to supply about 54 self-propelled mortars. In addition, Ukraine has confirmed that it is buying Ukraine buys 100 Rosomak amphibious armoured personnel carriers from Poland, a modification of the Finnish Patria armoured personnel carrier and Piorun MANPADS from Poland. No information is available yet on when the deliveries will start.

Flashback

The Rak is a self-propelled mortar made in Poland. It is built on the chassis of the Rosomak BMP. The mortar has 120 mm caliber and 46 rounds. The Rak can hit targets at ranges up to 12 km. The rate of fire is claimed to be up to eight rounds per minute. It will take only 30 seconds to deploy the system.
