Razer has released a free update to overclock the Viper Mini Signature Edition wireless mouse to 8000Hz

More than two years ago, Razer introduced the Viper 8KHz gaming mouse, which stood out for its record-breaking 8000Hz polling frequency. Now the Viper Mini Signature Edition boasts this feature.

Here's What We Know

A few days ago, owners of the Viper Mini Signature Edition had the opportunity to download a free update that increases the polling frequency of the wireless mouse to 8000Hz. As of April 24, Razer will begin automatically updating the software.

The original polling frequency of the mouse is 4000 Hz. Razer has so far refused to reveal the secret to increasing the frequency by updating the firmware. Apparently, the Viper Mini Signature Edition supported 8000 Hz polling frequency at the hardware level, but the option was originally disabled.

The Viper Mini Signature Edition is Razer's flagship gaming mouse. Like the Viper 8KHz model, it supports Hyperpolling Wireless technology. The accessory weighs less than 50g, has third generation optical switches and Razer Pro 30K optical sensor.

Optical Mouse Switches Gen-3 have a lifespan of 90 million clicks. The battery lasts for 60 hours of use. The Razer Viper Mini Signature Edition is priced at $280.
