T-72B in the Netherlands - destroyed Russian tank on Leidseplein square in Amsterdam city centre

A Russian tank has made its way to a NATO country. Residents and visitors to the Dutch capital can see the T-72B with their own eyes. The 44-tonne fighting vehicle stands in the centre of Amsterdam, but there is a nuance.

Here's What We Know

Anyone interested can see the destroyed tank on Leidseplein Square. The T-72B was on display there on Thursday evening. The fighting vehicle symbolises the "fragility and sustainability of democracy" in Europe.

The tank will remain on the square until June 4. It is worth noting that at the end of March the fighting vehicle was on display in front of the Museum of Freedom in Grusbeck, and a month earlier the T-72B could be seen by Berlin residents and visitors.

This tank was destroyed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kiev region in March last year. Since 24 February 2022, the Russian army has lost at least 273 T-72Bs. Some of the tanks were captured by Ukrainian soldiers.
