Ukrainian Su-24M bomber with two Storm Shadow missiles shown in real photo for the first time

The other day an actual photo of a Ukrainian Su-24M aircraft carrying two Storm Shadow missiles appeared on social media for the first time. We now know that both the Su-24M and Su-24MR are carrying British missiles.

Here's What We Know

The Su-24 was a prime candidate for the Storm Shadow carrier role. This is due to the fact that the frontline bomber can carry more than 1,500 kg of payload, whereas Su-25 and MiG-29 fighters are not capable of lifting more than 500 kg. The missile itself weighs about 1,300kg.

Previously we could only see a photo of a Ukrainian aircraft equipped with Storm Shadow. It was published in May by Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov during a visit by British defence chief Ben Wallace.
