NASA shows unusual photos of Saturn taken by the James Webb Space Telescope

In early summer, NASA used the James Webb Space Observatory to observe Saturn. The James Webb Space Telescope Feed published unusual photos of the sixth planet from the Sun.

Here's What We Know

You can see Saturn in an unusual way thanks to the publication of raw photos taken by the space telescope. The black-and-white images were obtained late last week. The planet looks spectacular in them, primarily because of its main feature, the ring system.

James Webb and other space telescopes can't take colour photos. They transmit black and white images to Earth, which are then processed by specialists. The processing not only makes the images beautiful, but also marks objects of scientific interest.

In some photos, we can clearly see the ring system, while the planet itself is hardly visible. This is because Saturn and its rings have different reflectivity.
