Analyst: Apple to raise price of iPhone 15 Pro Max for first time in 5 years

Another analyst, Jeff Pu of Haitong International Tech Research, is confident that Apple will raise the price of iPhone 15 smartphones this year.

Here's What We Know

To be more precise, Jeff Pu only talked about the iPhone 15 Pro Max price hike. According to him, the top-end smartphone will be more expensive than last year's iPhone 14 Pro Max, which was officially priced from $1099. But exactly how much the novelty will rise in price - the analyst did not specify. Previously, insiders Analyst: Apple to raise prices again for iPhone 15 smartphones, especially for the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models.

If the information is confirmed, this would be the first price hike for Pro models since 2018, when Apple raised the price of the iPhone Xs Max. More specifically, this only applies to official prices in the US, as prices in the global market were hiked as early as last year.

Analysts also say that the difference between the Pro and Pro Max will be more noticeable this year: in addition to screen size and battery capacity, the difference will be in the new periscope zoom lens, which will be exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The zoom is expected to increase to around 6x compared to the current 3x maximum.

According to fresh reports, the iPhone 15 will go into mass production in August, with around 84 million smartphones already in production in the second half of 2023. That's 12% more than last year's iPhone 14 builds. Apple seems to think demand will be high.

Looking ahead, the analyst also shared a prediction about the iPhone 16. According to him, Apple will add "meta-lens" technology for the proximity sensor, which will help significantly reduce the size of the Face ID sensor hardware in future generations. Confirming previous reports, the iPhone 16 will also support the latest WiFi 7 networking standard.
