Rheinmetall will soon transfer two Skynex anti-aircraft systems to Ukraine to combat UAVs and cruise missiles

The Armed Forces of Ukraine will soon receive a new batch of Skynex anti-aircraft systems.

Here's What We Know

The information was shared by the press service of the manufacturer Rheinmetall. Deliveries of weapons will begin in the coming months. We are talking about two installations. By the way, Ukraine already uses Skynex, but unfortunately, it is not known how many of these anti-aircraft guns are on combat duty.

Flashback

Skynex is a new air defence system based on the Rheinmetall MAN HX 8×8 chassis. The air defence system was introduced in 2021. It is designed to provide defence against cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles. The unit is equipped with an Oerlikon Mk3 cannon of 35 mm calibre. The effective range of fire is 4 kilometres. The Skynex arsenal also includes radar, which is capable of autonomously tracking aerial threats.
