NASA has again postponed the launch of the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft with crew to the ISS due to postponements of the Falcon Heavy rocket launch

SpaceX postponed the launch of the Falcon Heavy rocket with the Jupiter-3 satellite several times last month. This had a negative impact on the schedule of the Crew-7 mission for NASA.

Here's What We Know

NASA had planned to send a crew to the International Space Station on 15 August. However, SpaceX announced that the launch was postponed to 23 August. Earlier, it was decided to postpone the launch to 17 August.

The reason for the schedule shift is that in July, SpaceX sent the Falcon Heavy super-heavy rocket into space not on the first attempt. It's all about the fact that Falcon Heavy used the same launch pad as Falcon 9 with the Dragon Endurance spacecraft. Therefore, specialists need more time to prepare.

SpaceX capsules have flown to the ISS 10 times, one of which was a demonstration mission. Three launches were commercial, and another six times fulfilled NASA's order to deliver crews to the station. Thus, the Crew-7 mission will be the seventh in the framework of cooperation with NASA.
