In December, Xiaomi began beta testing of the firmware on Android 8.0 Oreo for the smartphone Mi A1. The list of changes was not limited to new functions of the operating system - enthusiasts noticed that the charging speed increased significantly.
Is it Quick Charge?
Xiaomi Mi A1 does not support the Quick Charge fast charging standard, although Snapdragon 625 chipset has such an option. But even without Qualcomm technology, the smartphone started charging faster after the update. If before the full charge took an average of about two hours, but now the battery is gaining 100% for an hour and a half. Approximately these results show Motorola Moto G5 Plus with a similar battery capacity. Some users connected Mi A1 to the branded charging of OnePlus, but with "non-native" gadgets it issues standard 5V / 2A.
As for other innovations, the test builds have a picture-in-picture mode, notification channels, autocomplete passwords, smart text selection and other Android 8.0 Oreo chips.
When to expect?
The developers promised to release Android 8.0 Oreo for Xiaomi Mi A1 before the end of the year, and if there were no new problems during the beta test, the update could arrive on the smartphone in the coming days.
