The first flight of the unmanned flying taxi Airbus Vahana

In November 2017, Airbus showed the prototype of its unmanned Vahana flying taxi. Now the developers announced that their offspring made the first full flight.

Not for long, but on your own

Flying taxi Airbus Vahana took off to a height of five meters and hung in the air for 53 seconds. At the same time, the prototype independently controlled take-off, flight and landing. The developers are satisfied with the first test and in the near future will produce Airbus Vahana in an independent flight much more and more often.

Taxi of the future

Airbus Vahana - a flying taxi with an autopilot that takes off vertically, has compact dimensions, screws that change their position during takeoff and the basic flight mode. Vahana takes off vertically, so it does not need special runways, and landing sites are planned to be built on the roofs of buildings. A full-fledged entry into the market of the flying unmanned taxi Airbus is scheduled for 2020.
