Instagram users learn about the screenshots of their "Stories"

In parallel with reposts , Instagram developers test the function of alerting the user that someone made a screenshot of his "History".

How it works?

When a user tries to record a video from the screen or take a screenshot while viewing other people's Stories, the Instagram application will report that from now on the authors of the publications will know about such cases. No service sends any special notifications, but in the statistics of each "History" near the nicknames there will be an icon about the screenshot made.

While this is just an experiment, and there is a suspicion that in case of a decrease in the number of views Instagram will refuse to implement the new function. Moreover, it is not always bad - subscribers can just save the photo for memory, while "History" did not go to the archive 24 hours after the publication. On the other hand, the icon about the taken screenshot will help to fight the theft of other people's content.

Notifications about the screenshots of the user receives only if, when communicating with the Direct, the interlocutor keeps the disappearing messages.

Restrictions

According to users, Instagram does not respond to the screenshots of "History", if they are made after the transition of the smartphone into flight mode. In addition, the official client will not be able to track screen shots through third-party applications for reposts.
