Huawei registered a new trademark of Mate X. It was found on the website of the EU's Intellectual Property Office. And according to him, the brand is located in the section "mobile phones; smartphones ». The manufacturer already has a product with a similar name - Huawei Matebook X, a laptop on Windows, which was introduced last year.

There are two hypotheses why the manufacturer registered a new name. The first - Huawei is going to present in the future a more advanced version of the Mate 10 and the second - the company simply filed a patent to protect its business, so that competitors could not choose such a name for their products. But for now, this is just our reasoning and guesswork. The company did not make any official statements about this.
