Acer has introduced the world's lightest 14-inch Swift 5 laptop on the Ukrainian market. The novelty is already available for pre-order at Rozetka.ua , and having completed the application before March 2, buyers will also receive a 10% discount.
What kind of laptop?
The updated Acer Swift 5 was first shown at the IFA 2017. The Ultrabook in a metal case made of magnesium alloy weighs only 970 grams at a thickness of 14.9 mm. 14-inch IPS-display with Full HD-resolution supports touch input and opens slightly more than 180 degrees. Inside - the Intel Core processor of the eighth generation (Core i5-8250U or Core i7-8550U), 8/16 GB RAM, SSD-drive for 256/512 GB.
The keyboard of the laptop is equipped with a backlight, there is a fingerprint scanner with support for Windows Hello. The set of interfaces is full-sized HDMI, two USB 3.0 ports and a symmetrical USB Type-C, but a separate power connector is used for charging. The battery life is 8 hours. Acer TrueHarmony and Dolby Audio Premium technologies are responsible for the sound quality of the speakers.
How much does it cost?
In Ukraine, eight versions of the laptop are available (four configurations in blue or gold color). The price of Acer Swift 5 starts at 34,000 hryvnia, but this is if with Linux, and the same model with Windows 10 Home "out of the box" costs 38,000 hryvnia already. The top version was estimated at 49 500 hryvnia. Do not forget about the 10% discount when pre-ordering .
Direct competitor in the face of Asus ZenBook UX430UN is cheaper and offers discrete graphics for NVIDIA GeForce MX150, but the screen is not touchscreen, and the weight is 300 grams more. The budget also fits Apple MacBook Pro 13 Late 2016, although this is a completely different story. Returning to Windows-based laptops, the HP Specter 13 looks more futuristic, but the price is higher than the Acer Swift 5. If the design is not so important, then the choice is much wider, and you can look at the 13.3-inch Lenovo IdeaPad 720S, for example.
