Doodle Google celebrates the opening of the XII Winter Paralympic Games in Pyeongchang.
Paralympic players, go ahead!
The black bear of Pandabi became the mascot of the Paralympic Games of 2018. He lives in Asia and symbolizes strong will and courage. At the Paralympic Games in Pyeongchang, 49 countries will meet. For the first time in the Paralympic Winter Games teams from Georgia, North Korea and Tajikistan participate.
At these games, a new discipline was introduced: steam-snowboarding. In total there will be competitions in six winter sports at this paralympic: biathlon, curling, skiing, cross-country skiing, para-snowboarding and sledge hockey.
XII Winter Paralympic Games in Pyeongchang will be held from 9 to 18 March.
