Romania has deployed a system to counter Russian drones on the border with Ukraine

Romania has decided to reinforce the part of the border with Ukraine where Russian drones were detected. Bucharest has deployed an anti-UAV system near the Danube River delta.

Here's What We Know

Earlier this autumn, several kamikaze drones, which the Russians used to attack Ukrainian grain infrastructure in the Odessa region, crashed and exploded on Romanian territory. Moreover, the UAVs continued to fall even after the appearance of American F-16 aircraft in Romania.

The country's authorities decided to reinforce the border with Ukraine due to the flights of Russian drones. A system to combat drones was deployed near the Danube River delta. This was announced by Romanian President Klaus Iohannis.

According to the head of state, the military has deployed the necessary equipment and is ready to fight Russian drones. Moreover, some of the tools were handed over by allies. Romanian radars can now detect aerial threats at very low altitudes, whereas before they could not see targets below 600 metres.
