April 30, 1777, was born Johann Karl Friedrich Gauss - German mathematician, physicist, astronomer, mechanic and geodesist. He is considered one of the greatest scientists in the history of mankind and has received the nickname "king of mathematicians".

The King of Mathematicians

At the age of 22 a young scientist proved the basic theorem of algebra . In addition to this, fundamental research is connected with the name of Gauss in almost all the basic fields of mathematics: in algebra, mathematical analysis, the theory of functions of a complex variable, number theory, differential and non-Euclidean geometry, probability theory, and also in analytical and celestial mechanics, geodesy, astronomy and physics. Carl Friedrich Gauss is a laureate of the Copley medal, a foreign member of the Swedish and Russian Academies of Sciences, as well as of the English Royal Society.
