The flagship LG G7 ThinQ with "bang" is officially presented
At the presentation in New York, there was an announcement of the flagship smartphone LG G7 ThinQ, which everyone will simply call LG G7.
What kind of beast?
The heir, LG G6, received a 6.1-inch display with a resolution of 3120x1440 pixels, a 19.5: 9 aspect ratio and a cutout that can be "hidden" if desired, making the entire top panel black. In the company they say that this is the continuation of the idea of the second screen (used to be in the V-series), but such an explanation is strongly attracted to the ears. As expected, instead of OLED, an LCD screen with a white subpixel is used. The technology was named Super Bright Display, because it allowed to significantly increase the brightness - up to 1000 cd / m². The format is HDR 10. The front panel is covered with glass Gorilla Glass 5.
The heart of the device was the flagship eight-core processor Snapdragon 845. Standard LG G7 received 4 GB of operating and 64 GB of internal memory with the possibility of expansion, but there will be a top LG G7 + on 6/128 GB. There are no other differences between the versions, in some countries there will be modifications to two SIM-cards.
On the back of the LG G7 is a vertical dual camera, its main 16-megapixel module with a f / 1.6 diaphragm is equipped with an optical stabilization system, phase and laser autofocusing. In the night mode, the smartphone takes pictures up to four times brighter than normal. Artificial Intelligence analyzes the frame and selects one of the 19 scenes. The second module at 16 MP received a "shirik" with a viewing angle of 107 degrees. The manufacturer promises support for new chips Google Lens, which will be told only at the presentation of Google I / O 2018.
The front camera is 8 megapixel, with f / 1.9 optics. This is the first flagship LG with a background blur function in portrait mode. It works with both cameras.
LG G7 ThinQ is enclosed in a glass case with a metal frame, there is protection from water and dust according to IP68 certified, as well as MIL-STD-810G certification. At the end there was a hardware button called Google Assistant. Now it can not be reassigned, but LG can change this decision depending on the response of users.
In the smartphone for the first time there was a technology of virtual 7.1-channel sound DTS: X in headphones (3.5 mm jack left), also installed 32-bit DAC from ESS. The main speaker uses the space inside the case as a resonator to amplify the low frequencies, and the maximum volume has increased by 39%. With LG G7, you can do without an "intelligent" speaker - microphones recognize voice commands at a distance of up to 5 meters.
The capacity of the battery is 3000 mAh. It supports quick charging via USB Type-C port and two wireless charging standards Qi and PMA. And technology Qnovo allows to prolong service life of the battery. From the wireless interfaces - Wi-Fi 802.11a / b / g / n / ac, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC.
When and how much?
LG G7 ThinQ in will appear in South Korea in mid-May, sales in other countries will start in June. The producer modestly keeps silent about the price, but rumors reported starting 680 euros for the countries of Europe. This is cheaper than Samsung Galaxy S9 / S9 + (850/950 euros) and Apple iPhone X (1150 euros). Huawei P20 Pro with triple camera will also cost more - in 900 euros.
The sources of the insider Roland Kwandt predict a more impressive 850 euros in Germany. If this is not about the top LG G7 +, then the flagship does not shine. In general, we are waiting for official prices from LG.
