Nokia returned to the top 10 brands of smartphones, and this is not the end

Smartphones Nokia slowly but surely win the market from competitors. In the first quarter of 2018, the owner of the Finnish brand HMD Global took the ninth place in the ranking of the largest producers. This is stated in the report Strategy Analytics.

Living legend

From January to March, HMD supplied 4.1 million units. This is slightly less than in the holiday season (4.4 million), but since there is always a decline in demand at the beginning of the year, the brand's market share has grown from 0.9% to 1.2%. The producer rose from the 11th position of the world rating to the ninth line. According to experts, smartphones of the revived brand are popular in India and parts of Europe.

At the World Mobile Congress MWC 2018 representatives of HMD said that within five years they expect to enter the top five smartphone market leaders. Now the top 5 closes the Chinese Oppo with a result of 24.1 million devices - it's almost 6 times the current sales of Nokia. In general, the company has something to work on.

Recently, Strategy Analytics specialists named the most popular models of the first quarter, and four places of the rating of six occupied the iPhone of the last generations.
