Xbox chief: all Activision Blizzard games, including Call of Duty, will appear in the Game Pass catalogue

It's no secret that Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard primarily to add that company's games to the Xbox Game Pass service to attract millions of new subscribers.

However, due to the drawn-out process, numerous lawsuits, conflicts with Sony and other related problems, many experts doubted that Microsoft would go so far as to provide cheap access to projects like Call of Duty instead of selling them for $70 and at least partially compensate for the $70 billion spent.

Xbox chief Phil Spencer gave a great interview to journalist Stephen Totilo, in which he once again reiterated a firm stance on adding games to the Game Pass catalogue.

Here's What We Know

Spencer emphasised that all Activision Blizzard games, including Call of Duty, will eventually appear on Xbox Game Pass, with new titles available on the service on release day:

Our goal is to make the full portfolio of ZeniMax, Activision Blizzard and Xbox Game Studios games available on Game Pass, including new releases on release day.

The topic of releasing physical copies of games was also touched upon in the interview.

Spencer said that although disc releases are becoming less and less profitable as most gamers have already switched to digital purchases, Microsoft has no plans to abandon the practice. According to the head of Xbox, game consoles are the last relevant type of consumer hardware with disc drives, but this trend is unlikely to last long either. But as long as there are disc drives - there will be discs from Microsoft.

Recall, the It's official: Activision Blizzard games will appear in the Game Pass catalogue. The first will be Diablo IVwill be Diablo IV, it will be available to subscribers of the service from 28 March.
