Vivo launches new mid-budget V40 SE 5G smartphone in Europe

Vivo has unveiled a new V40 SE 5G smartphone along with its foldable flagships X Fold 3 and X Fold 3 Pro. Unlike its more expensive brethren, the V40 SE is aimed at the mid-range market.

Vivo has unveiled a new V40 SE 5G smartphone that targets the mid-range price segment. This smartphone features a large 6.67-inch Ultra Vision AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, 120Hz refresh rate and brightness up to 1200 nits. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset. The smartphone packs 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of inbuilt UFS 2.2 storage, which is expandable up to 1TB via microSD card.

On the back of the device, there is a triple camera setup with a 50 MP main sensor, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 2 MP secondary sensor. The front camera for selfies has a resolution of 16 MP.

The smartphone has a 5,000mAh battery with 44W fast charging support. It also supports Smart Charging Engine 2.0 and overcharging protection during overnight charging.

The smartphone is available in two colour variants, Crystal Black with a plastic back panel and Leather Purple with a faux leather back panel. Both variants feature an in-screen fingerprint sensor and are IP54 dust and water resistant. The device measures 158.3 x 73.1 x 7.79mm and weighs 185.5g.

Vivo has not revealed the official price yet. The handset is currently available in Austria and European regions. The company said that the V40 SE 5G will serve as the official smartphone for Euro 2024.
