Meta to add artificial intelligence to its Ray-Ban smart glasses

Next month, Meta will introduce artificial intelligence into Ray-Ban smart glasses.

Here's What We Know

One of the main features of the new system is the ability to recognise objects, landmarks, and even animals. Users will be able to activate the smart assistant by simply addressing it with the phrase "Hello, Meta" and then asking a question or giving a hint. The results will be played back through the built-in speakers.

While these new features promise to revolutionise the way people use smart glasses, they are not quite perfect yet. The NYT report showed that the system does not always correctly identify objects, especially if they are far away or behind obstacles. There are also problems with translation, particularly with exotic languages.

Nevertheless, the glasses are already available to certain users as early access, currently only in the United States. Meta is obviously continuing to work on improving these features, with the aim of making them more accessible and useful for everyone.
