Spain sells its old M60 tanks

The Spanish Ministry of Defence has put up for sale old-generation M60 tanks for 47,000 euros.

Here's What We Know

The tanks have been decommissioned by the Navy and were previously used by the Marines. The army has now put the M60 battle tanks up for auction.

The announcement does not specify the exact number of tanks to be sold, but the price per unit is known - 46,924 euros. You can submit documents and participate in the auction until 22 April, and all bids will be opened on 24 April.

The Navy requires a preliminary deposit of €9,384, which is 20% of the base tender price for M60 battle tanks.

Flashback

The M60 is a second-generation main battle tank from the 1960s. It was used by the armies of the United States, Germany, Spain and other countries. It weighs about 50 tonnes and is equipped with a 105 mm gun. The M60 has a tracked chassis and a 750 hp petrol engine. The maximum speed is about 48 km/h. It took part in the Vietnam campaign and many other conflicts.
