Valve statistics showed that Steam users are actively swapping out old graphics cards for GeForce RTX 40-series and installing 16GB of RAM

Valve has published regular statistics about what computer components are most often used by Steam gamers.

The data shows that owners of older graphics cards are actively switching to modern GeForce RTX 40-series from Nvidia.

At the same time, GeForce RTX 30-series remain the most popular among Steam users: RTX 3060 (6.71%) and RTX 2060 (3.98%) graphics cards hold the leading positions.

Among RTX 40-series models, the RTX 4060 and RTX 4070 take the lead, while the powerful RTX 4090 ranks only 30th in popularity.

Among graphics processors from AMD, RX 7000-series models have not yet managed to displace analogues from Nvidia. Thus, the share of AMD graphics cards of the latest generation is only 3.1% among Steam users and that's due to the fact that they are installed in Steam Deck OLED handheld consoles.

As for processors, 34.8% of computers have six-core processors, and 19.8% have eight-core processors. The share of processors with ten cores is 5.62 per cent. Thus, we can conclude that gamers are actively using the latest processor models from AMD and Intel.

Almost half of Steam users have 16 GB of RAM installed in their PCs. At the same time, the number of systems with 32 GB increased by 2% compared to the previous month and reached 29.3%. This trend is likely to continue as new games require more and more RAM.
