The first footage of Christian Bale as Frankenstein's monster in The Bride has emerged
The first footage from the upcoming horror film The Bride has surfaced. Thanks to them, we finally have a chance to appreciate Christian Bale as Frankenstein's monster, along with Jessie Buckley as The Bride.
What's known
The images were shared by the film's director Maggie Gyllenhaal on her Instagram page.
Here's What The Movie Is About
"The Bride" is about a lonely Frankenstein who travels to 1930s Chicago to seek the help of a man named Dr Euphronius to create a companion for himself. This companion is Bride, the reanimated body of a recently murdered woman. However, Frankenstein and Bride's plans are quickly thwarted when their passionate affair attracts the attention of both the police and a "savage and radical social movement".
The cast is quite star-studded, with Peter Sarsgaard, Annette Bening and Penelope Cruz all appearing in the film.
It's worth noting that Guillermo del Toro is also currently screening "Frankenstein" for Netflix with an equally stellar cast that includes Jacob Elordi, Christoph Waltz, Felix Kammerer, Lars Mikkelsen, David Bradley and Christian Convery.
When We Can Expect It
"The Bride" is scheduled to be released in IMAX format on 3 October 2025.
