In a subsequent statement by @xj0nathan, which appeared 12 hours after the first tweet, he emphasised: "Let me be clear, I was never referring to Cillian Murphy being in the game. The image has a different meaning".
Back in January 2023, Insider Gaming reported that a new part of the main Far Cry series was being developed under the codename Project Blackbird, as well as a multiplayer project called Project Maverick.
In September 2023, the publication reported that Far Cry 7 would be slightly different from its predecessors.
