The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, said that Russia had deployed approximately 50,000 troops to the Kursk region, weakening its positions in other parts of the frontline in Ukraine.
Here's What We Know
In a documentary aired on 10 October, Syrsky said that Russian troops had moved their forces from other fronts (East, South and North), where they had been actively engaged in offensive operations.
"We know that about 50,000 troops from other areas have been redeployed to the Kursk direction. This, of course, made it easier for us to conduct a defensive operation," he explained.
