The Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Brigadier General Anatolii Klochko, held talks with a delegation from the Defence Industry Agency of the Italian Ministry of Defence.

Here's What We Know

During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibility of using the proceeds of frozen Russian assets to purchase Italian-made air defence systems and ammunition. General Klochko stressed the importance of understanding the cost and timing of the supply of weapons, including ammunition of various calibres and air defence systems.

Representatives of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, together with a delegation from the Ministry of Strategic Industry and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, got acquainted with the products of Italian defence companies. In his turn, Marcello Mele, a representative of the Italian agency, presented the key areas of activity and opportunities for cooperation with Ukraine.

The Italian side expressed its readiness to support Ukraine not only by supplying arms, but also by involving Ukrainian industry in the use of the EU budget.

The talks ended with an agreement to continue working on joint industrial projects aimed at strengthening Ukraine's defence capabilities.
