Anduril Industries will invest $900 million to build the largest drone factory in Ohio

Anduril Industries, one of the leading US defence companies, is building a new factory in Ohio called Arsenal 1. The $900 million manufacturing facility will be the largest drone factory in the state.
What kind of drones will be produced?
The new factory will focus on producing autonomous systems for military use. Among the planned models:
Algorithmically controlled reconnaissance drones:
- Capable of operating in challenging environments without direct operator control
- Use Anduril's Lattice OS AI system for autonomous decision-making in flight
Combat drones:
- Equipped with systems to launch missiles and other weapons
- Designed to perform support missions for troops in combat zones
Drone interception systems:
- Specialised drones to neutralise threats from enemy drones
- Can use electromagnetic pulses or physical target acquisition
Winged Drones:
- Equipped with wings for long-range flights and capable of patrolling large areas
- Suitable for reconnaissance and surveillance missions
Manufacturing Technologies
"Arsenal 1" will be one of the most advanced manufacturing facilities using robotic assembly lines and 3D printing technologies. This will speed up the drone manufacturing process, reduce costs and improve production accuracy.
Special attention will be paid to product testing: a special test site will be created to test autonomous systems, where drones will be able to undergo field tests in conditions close to real life.
Context
With the growing global demand for such devices, the production of drones and autonomous systems has become a key area of defence technology development.
The launch of the Ohio plant, scheduled for July 2026, will be an important step for the company. The plant will create around 4,000 jobs and strengthen the industrial capabilities of the region.
