At the Samsung Unpacked event in San Jose, the company surprised with several interesting news, in addition to the new Galaxy S25 series. One of the surprises was the confirmation of the Galaxy S25 Edge, formerly known as the Galaxy S25 Slim, the fourth variant in the new lineup to be launched later this year.

Here's What We Know

The company did not reveal any details about this unique device, only referring to it as "multi-fold". However, an image was shown on the big screen, which unequivocally confirmed that Samsung is developing a three-sided folding smartphone.

This phone was mentioned during the discussion of Samsung's plans for the XR, including a new headset codenamed Project Moohan, which the company is working on with Google and Qualcomm. Samsung also announced plans to develop smart glasses.

It has long been rumoured that Samsung would expand its line of foldable devices with a three-way phone. This was inevitable after Huawei introduced a similar device. The latest rumours indicate that this phone could be introduced as early as this year, along with an update to the Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Flip.

Although Samsung did not provide further details on the three-sided phone, it is rumoured to be launched in the third quarter of 2025. The screen size of the device when unfolded could be between 9.9 and 10 inches, bringing it closer to the tablet category.

Hopefully, Samsung will reveal more details about this device soon.
