Samsung has introduced a new Galaxy Log feature in the Galaxy S25 that improves video editing, and HDR is now enabled by default.

Here's What We Know

Samsung continues to improve the photo and video capabilities of its Galaxy S lineup. With the Galaxy S25, the company introduces Galaxy Log, a new way to record video that uses the proven LOG format.

Samsung offers many tools for video work, making its smartphones great for recording content. In the past, the company has already put a lot of effort into becoming a brand that develops video recording devices for YouTube or other social platforms.

Samsung has announced that the Galaxy S25 series will support the Galaxy Log feature.

Galaxy Log is Samsung's own way of referring to the LOG format. The LOG format is similar to RAW, as it records video with minimal processing, which allows you to apply colour correction later. The main advantage of LOG is that it can be viewed on an external monitor, even if the processing is minimal during recording. As a result, the video appears almost without colour saturation, making it easier to work with and correct colour later. Shooting in LOG format also provides more dynamic range, which is useful in many situations.

Galaxy Log is part of other new camera features such as virtual aperture and Portrait Studio.

The Galaxy S25 is available for pre-order starting at $799 for the S25 model. Galaxy Log is expected to be available on all three models in the Galaxy S25 series.
