Google expands Gemini experience for Pixel 9 smartphone owners and Gemini Advanced subscribers
Google has announced new updates for Pixel 9 series users and Gemini Advanced subscribers. These updates will roll out over the next few weeks.
Here's What We Know
One of the key new features is Gemini Live, which can now analyse images, files and videos, providing detailed information and suggestions in real-time. Users can add images to their conversations or documents and discuss them with the chatbot, as well as have conversations about YouTube videos, getting explanations and insights. These features will be available on Pixel 9 series devices and will soon be coming to Pixel 6 and later phones.
In the coming months, the Gemini app on Pixel will be one of the first to get Project Astra features like screen sharing and live video streaming. Additionally, with extensions, Gemini can perform tasks in apps like YouTube, Google Maps, mail and Spotify, and users can now ask Gemini to use multiple extensions in a single request.
The new Gemini Deep Research feature, available for Gemini Advanced subscribers, turns the Pixel into a powerful research assistant, helping to crawl hundreds of websites and create reports with key findings. Pixel 9 Pro owners can enjoy Deep Research with a 12-month Gemini Advanced subscription included in their price, while users of other Pixel models will get the feature in the next few days.
