Apparently, the developers of Dragon Age: The Veilguard has closed the door on further updates for the game, as Patch 5 was released this week, thanking players for their support over the past months and introducing a few minor quality of life improvements.

Here's What We Know

BioWare expressed confidence that the game is now in a "stable state" and will continue to focus on monitoring critical bugs. The update ended with the phrase "Dareth shiral!" - an elven phrase that means "goodbye" or "good luck", signalling the likely end of new content.

Earlier this week, EA announced that the game failed to reach its internal targets, with 1.5 million players playing from October 2024 to the end of the year, almost 50% below the expected figure. The announcement follows the recent dismissal of the game's director, Corinne Busche, whose departure was confirmed in an interview with Eurogamer. Fans who already knew that there would be no DLC were surprised by the sudden halt of even minor updates.
