Canadian company develops the world's first balloon-launched UAV

Landing Zones Canada has completed flight tests of its advanced Eagle balloon-launched cargo delivery system. The testing was conducted in challenging operational and climatic conditions, demonstrating the capabilities of this system.
Here's What We Know
Eagle is designed to perform tactical and operational tasks such as surveillance, intelligence gathering, electronic warfare and precision strikes. The system can operate in a fully autonomous mode or with the participation of an operator.
Spence Fraser, founder of Landing Zones Canada, said the system sets a new standard for military drones. Thanks to its variable wing profile, the Eagle is capable of flying at supersonic speeds as well as low speeds, depending on the mission.
Its stealth characteristics increase survivability in hostile airspace, and its ability to operate at stratospheric altitudes of more than 50 km makes it versatile.
The Alberta-based company said the Eagle is built for endurance and speed, but the exact specifications have not yet been disclosed. The test campaign has confirmed the system's reliability and adaptability, demonstrating its readiness for real-world applications.
