Director Denis Villeneuve has confirmed that work on Dune: Messiah will start earlier than planned. After the success of Dune: Part Two, Villeneuve felt inspired and responsible to complete the story of Paul Atrid.

Here's What We Know

Villeneuve originally planned to tackle another project before continuing Dune. However, after taking a break over the summer, he decided to focus on completing the saga. The director said: "I was really touched by the way the second part was received by filmgoers around the world, and I felt the desire and responsibility to complete this story."

The events of Dune: The Messiah will take place 12 years after the events of the second part and will conclude the story of Paul Atrid.

Dune: The Messiah is expected to be released in 2027, but the official release date has not yet been announced.
