The Ukrainian and Polish defence industries are stepping up integration processes under the auspices of their governments. The visit of a Polish delegation to Kyiv, led by Deputy Defence Minister Cezary Tomczyk, resulted in the signing of two agreements.

Here's What We Know

Poland's Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ) has signed a memorandum of industrial cooperation with Ukroboronprom. The document was signed under the auspices of the Polish Ministry of Defence and the Ukrainian Ministry of Strategic Industries.

Since 2014, Ukrainian-Polish defence projects have expanded significantly, including the overhaul of T-64 tanks jointly with PGZ at the Bumar-Labędy plant and the production of ammunition in 2023.

PGZ unites more than 50 companies engaged in the production of armoured vehicles, artillery, air defence systems, including Pilica systems and Piorun man-portable air defence systems, Rak self-propelled mortars and Grot C16 rifles.

The second agreement envisages cooperation between the National Association of Ukrainian Defence Industries (NAUDI) and the Military Technical Institute of Armaments (WITU), which is engaged in research and development of ammunition.
