Google has announced stricter rules for publishing content on YouTube that has to do with online casinos and other forms of digital gambling.

Here's What We Know

From 19 March 2025, YouTube will ban content creators from encouraging viewers to click through to gambling sites that do not have Google certification. This applies to both verbal mentions of online casinos and direct links, demonstrations, logos and other material referring to the above category of content.

In addition, age restrictions will be introduced for some videos.

Meanwhile, even those videos that do not directly violate YouTube's Community Guidelines, but contain online casino adverts, will also receive age restrictions.

Any content related to digital gambling, with the exception of sports betting and demonstrations of regular casinos, will not be available to viewers under the age of 18.

YouTube will automatically remove any videos that lure users to online casinos and promise guaranteed refunds, regardless of whether they have certification from Google.
