According to a leak from Digital Chat Station, Apple is working on a foldable iPad Pro that will feature Face ID technology embedded under the screen.

Here's What We Know

The device will be the first in Apple's lineup to have the Face ID infrared sensor placed under the display, reducing the visible elements on the screen. However, the infrared camera will remain on the surface for now, with its integration under the screen expected in future generations. The foldable iPad Pro will have an 18.8-inch display, making it larger than any MacBook but smaller than an iMac.

Apple has all but switched to Face ID, leaving Touch ID only on some iPad models. Despite the possibility of implementing Touch ID under the screen, the company prefers to develop Face ID as the primary mechanism for secure unlocking.

It was previously speculated that Face ID under-screen technology would appear on the iPhone 17, but its introduction was delayed for finalisation. If the rumours are confirmed, the new foldable iPad Pro will be an important step in Apple's innovative technology, combining a foldable design with advanced biometric authentication solutions.
